H. Derek Saltsman is an accomplished attorney whose dedication to justice and advocacy has left an indelible mark on the legal landscape. With a career spanning over two decades, H. Derek Saltsman has consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment and legal acumen in every endeavor.
In October 2010, Saltsman assumed the role of Assistant Regional Criminal Counsel and Supervising Attorney at the Office of Regional Criminal Conflict Counsel, 5th District. In this capacity, he provided comprehensive legal representation to indigent clients, overseeing trial preparation, discovery, and courtroom proceedings in both civil dependency and criminal cases. His tenure at the Regional Criminal Conflict Counsel's office underscored his dedication to upholding the principles of justice and ensuring equitable access to legal representation.
From 2003 to 2010, Derek Saltsman established and led his private practice as President and Trial Attorney at Harlan Derek Saltsman, Attorney at Law, P.A. Over the course of a decade, he developed a robust solo practice catering to the diverse legal needs of individuals and businesses in Ridge Manor, FL, and beyond. Handling an average caseload of 125 cases monthly, he specialized in civil litigation, criminal defense, real estate transactions, and contract negotiation, earning a reputation for professionalism and legal acumen.
Prior to that, from 2002 to 2003, Saltsman served as Lead Trial Attorney at the firm of Militana & Militana, where he specialized in civil and criminal trial litigation across the Southeastern States. Here, he demonstrated proficiency in trial preparation, including depositions, discovery, and courtroom appearances, while maintaining a focus on client advocacy and legal integrity.
Commencing his legal career in June 2001, Derek Saltsman served as an Assistant Public Defender in the Office of Public Defender for the Fifth and Seventh Judicial Circuits of Florida. In this role, he diligently represented indigent clients, managing a caseload exceeding 250 criminal cases monthly while ensuring due process and fair representation for all.
